In the Age of Quarantine, the Old West Makes a Comeback with John Layne’s Second Novel, Red River Reunion. From the author of Gunslingers: A Story of the Old West, Red River Reunion is a classic Western Fiction novel set in 1877 that traces the lives of U.S. Deputy Marshal Luxton Danner and Texas Ranger Wes Payne during their latest Texas adventures, where they risk everything to defend the meek, uphold frontier law, and satisfy their pursuit of doing what no other men can.

How will gardens help us be more resilient in 2021? Everyone still wants all the services, but now they must be outdoors. 2021 will be the year of renewal by nature.
A vaccine alone will not be enough to rapidly extinguish the pernicious pandemic of Covid-19. Most likely it will take at least another year for the layers of defense to provide a barrier. The model for dealing with the human, technological, and natural elements is referred to as “Swiss Cheese.” We’ll look at what to expect in 2021 in battling the virus.
Bio: John Layne
John Layne is a veteran of law enforcement whose career began with the Houston Texas Police Department in 1981. After bringing his badge to a couple of additional agencies, he retired in 2012 but never left the profession. He is currently a Senior Detective for a state-wide law enforcement agency in North Texas.
His writing career began in the sports industry as a freelance writer and sports editor for national magazines and online publications.
He grew up watching western movies and reading stories of the old west. His theatrical influences included actors John Wayne, James Stewart, Clint Eastwood, and Sam Elliott as well as directors John Ford, Henry Hathaway, and Howard Hawks. He drew literary inspiration from Louis L’Amour, Robert B. Parker, C. J. Box, and Lee Child. His passion for history and the classic western genre inspired him to write his first novel, Gunslingers (Newman Springs 2019), and its sequel, Red River Reunion (Labrador Publishing 2020), both classic westerns set in 1877 Texas.
John is an avid sports fan and horse enthusiast. He is a member of Western Writers of America, Western Fictioneers, American Paint Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
